Use lantern to light surroundings.

I turned on the lantern, and looked around. The ground was a good ten feet below me. It would have been more if the room hadn't been so full of rubble. I could see a door going south which luckily was high enough to not be totally filled up by all the debris. However, the light from the lantern was not enough to see what was in that room- either it was a pretty weak lantern for one with such a lucridous power source or some dark magic was deepening the shadows here. Knowing Unfooruman's love for dramatics, the latter actually seemed more likely.

Jump down. Enter room.

Sorry Lem, but BR posted first.
I hopped off the rope and landed lightly on the floor. My dramatic disembarkment was rather ruined, though, by the rubble on the floor shifting and causing me to trip. It didn't take much for me to right myself, though, and I then with extra care crawled through the top of the door- the only part not filled with rubble. Looking into the next room, I saw that it had doors west and east and a lever in the center. I looked up, noting that the lights in this room were off. |

Pull the lever.

I tried to pull the lever, but it snapped off in my hand. It was beginning to become obvious that Unfooruman hadn't been properly maintaining this place, expecially since he was dead.

Uh, try pulling the little stub that's left. If that fails, try to reattach the lever.

Risp, you're jumping between tenses again. And you're responding too much. Play D2 more frequently between posts, and write longer things with needless details and directions from several posts. The hiddenness of this message assumes everyone but you uses the default JCF theme.

But I got stuck in D2 because Baal is so freaking hard of an end boss. Well, I guess that just means I should play MORE. Also, couldn't you have used a PM?

I went north, and was not surprised to see that all that was left of the monolith once here was a few snapped chains hanging from the ceiling. I looked down the pit then left the room before I got any urge to jump down it.
Well, guys, it's now time to go to bed... again. With my 'playing a game' away message up. Seriously, don't listen to the message. I'm actually going to bed for the second time today. |

The entire room is full of rubble. You don't need to search for rocks. There is a difference between a rock too heavy to pick up and a rock too heavy to move.
NOTE: For those confused, this is NOT a DM post, just a comment. It does not need to be bolded. Last edited by Risp; Jul 1, 2005 at 07:43 AM. |

I went south for a bit, and found myself in yet another familiar room once part of the annoying puzzle hidden down in this maze. A dial stood on a table in the center. I tried looking to see which way it pointed but it had been fused into a large lump of rust. There were signs that a person had been staying here- a wooden chair pulled up to table and a pack of cards. Wherever Araches had got those was a mystery. However, she wasn't around to ask- the room was totally devoid of any inhabitants, Araches or otherwise. In addition to the way I came, there was an exit east, but it was filled up with rubble. There was also an exit south, bathed in shadows like the rest of the place.
While looking around for doors, I saw a notice hanging on the west wall. It said "This underground maze has been found in violation of dungeon-building code 2-A and is scheduled for demolition on". Rather annoyingly, it was torn and unreadable after that. |

I headed south, again. It was the only way I could go, anyway. This room used to be the furnace, and there were still scorch marks on the walls and ashes on the floor. However, the fire was now out, just like most everything here. There was an exit to the west, along with the one I came in from. Where there used to be the cooling machine there was now just an air vent going east.

I tried to shout out for Araches, but my voice- even after trying to shout as loudly as I could- was strangely muted. Whatever was deepinging the shadows here was also keeping me from talking at more then a loud whisper, it appeared.

I looked once again for a rock and this time found one. It was small, vaugley roundish, and grey- all the medium ones were taken.
I'm not adding it to the inventory because I can't find any good transparent .gif file to use as a rock image on google image search. Just pretend it's there, okay? |

I went one room west, and came to the teleporter room. And nearly fell in. The entire floor of the room had collapsed and fallen down a deep pit, under which was most likely more maze. I peered down, but the shadows were too deep to see the bottom. I stood up and sighed, wondering where Araches could possibly be in this maze.
I did. Didn't find anything. In fact, when we first tried to pick up rocks I asked Radium if he could find any good rock pictures. He couldn't either. |
