Throw one of the rocks (whichever one is larger) into the air vent.

If you go north twice you reach the dial room. You need to go east also. That's the point of the air vent. To get to Fox's room you MUST go through it. It's easy to go through if you know the nature of what's killing you in it.
|
Jul 5, 2005, 03:52 PM | |
uh... is it alive?
if so, then it might be a snake or a scorpion. but then how do we get rid of it? take the lantern and put it in the vent. then push it farther in. and observe. if nothing is there then climb in and proccede. if something is there then...uh... *Mmmm......donuts*

I climbed in, and crawled down the ventilation shaft. I started to hum a tune but it died on my lips. I began to feel an itch... and it went downhill from there. I had a strange feeling of deja vu as my body rushed with poison. I took my final breath as the death took the last of me...
...and I snapped back to reality. I was standing next to the vent, feeling very jittery and very much in need of rest. No chance of getting one down here, though. You won't learn anything by crawling down the air vent and dying. There is a critical clue but it's not here. Well, kind of. |
Jul 6, 2005, 12:13 AM | |
You know, I think Risp just doesnt want us to enter that vent.

of course! that makes perfect sense! let's commit suicide by climbing back into the vent!

Attempt to make a spark by hitting the wall as hard as possible with one of the rocks, and use the spark to light the note on fire.

ooh! Good point. There might by some sort of injection turret in there that injects you with poison.
Heres what I want to do: Search the walls for anything different. |
Jul 6, 2005, 01:26 PM | |
That would suggest that there's some sort of dart-gun or poisoned spike in the vent. If it was poison gas, then it would have diffused out of the vent and Shuri would already be dead.
Climb into the vent, then continue down the vent, bashing the surface/walls of the vent with the rock before touching it with any part of your body (hands, arms, legs, feet, etc.) |
Jul 6, 2005, 03:51 PM | |
Here is an (out of date) map-
http://www.foxmage.com/LemMap.gif Look, you have something at your ready with which you can learn the nature of what applies the poison. That isn't crawling through the vent over and over and over to no end. |
Jul 6, 2005, 03:59 PM | |
Reread note. Examine contents of first aid kit.

Listen for sound in the vent. (For example, rotating of a dart shooter, roar of a furnace.)
|
Jul 6, 2005, 04:55 PM | |
Look at paper.
Look around. |
Jul 6, 2005, 04:57 PM | |
Okay, time to take back control.
Go north. Take out the katana. Attack the fake wall.

Search for a crease or seperation between the fake wall and the real ones.
|
Jul 6, 2005, 05:29 PM | |
@Zapper - You need light to look at things.
@Lem- Hehehe, that's ironic. I went north and struck the fake wall with my katana. I was struck by a sense of deja vu, which was actually rather refreshing, since this time it didn't have any mystery attached. I examined the wall but noticed no obviously weak crease between the old walls and the fake one- it appears the fake one was welded in. |
Jul 6, 2005, 06:23 PM | |
Attack the wall again.

it could be a motion sensor thing, or heat seaking. stick your hand in the vent as far as it will go and wave it around and stuff.
something at our ready? is it a rock? pick up a rock and throw it into the vent. see if something different happens. is it alive?

You guys aren't reading what Risp is saying closly at all.
The solution is in another room, he said. Also, dieing repeatedly won't get us anywhere. As such, he also claimed that knowing what's killing us would help greatly, but that information won't come by dieing from it repeatedly. One thing I can think of is to use two rocks and strike them together to create a spark, and see if we can read the paper in the fleeting light. Of course, that's way off base probably. Is there anything of interest in the first aid kit besides generally healing looking stuff? Any anti-venom in it? Throw rock down vent. |
Jul 7, 2005, 03:43 AM | |
I struck a spark and tried to read the paper. It went out before I could actually read anything, but I caught a glimpse of something rather long written on the back.
I went south and threw a bunch more rocks down the shaft, including the one I was carrying. Inventory Code:
@Stratn - The first aid kit does have an antivenom, but it's not fast-action enough for whatever very strong poison used in the air vents. @MSB - That would take us to the collapsed gate room. I'm pretty sure that's not what you wanted. |

Is the way through N, E, N open?
