The moster is able to instantly create new tentacles at will. It takes little energy to create one, but there are so many battles breaking up around the galaxy that the monster must expend a lot of energy to replace it's lost (the inhabitance of this galaxy have many ships even stronger than the Interceptor II.)

The blast flings the Interceptor II out of the galaxy, far from the monster's grasp. The blast also knocks the crew unconsious.

"WARNING- INCOMING VESSEL. UNKNOWN CLASS. NOT AFFILIATED WITH ANY KNOWN ENEMIES OR ALLIES," says X-I before the the entire ship goes into Standby Mode. The crew is still alive, but the life support is damaged.

RB: Whoa...what a blast.

The Rainbow Cruiser uses a tractor beam to bring the ship into the launch bay. Then blasts off for another faraway galaxy.

You realize that in shooting away at an extremly high speed you have become a very high priority for the monster, and it has very good reaction times? If you want to I will let you redo that move. Or, as an alternative, I could let you go away without a fight but keep you from leaving this universe in another way.

Also, not all new systems can be adapted to properly.

When I said "blast off to a far away galaxy" I meant "teleport away". This ship has very advanced technology, perhaps even greater than yours. These people are also trained to handle subspace creatures. So nyah.

In the galaxy, as the Interceptor II is for some reason teleported away by an explosion, another hole appears. Out of this comes a huge, pulsating, one-eyed, spider-like monster, with millions of tentacles going back into the hole. It looks in the direction the Interceport II was flung, and blinks. A flurry of grey energy shoots from it and covers the Interceptor II and all it's crew in a coat of rapidly fading heavy, deep grey, energy. The Monster used Ancient Magic: Planesanchor.

Ancient Magic: Planesanchor prevent the target from moving between planes, and can only be countered by another ancient magic spell.

Oh, and this would be a good idea to bring up the types of magic.
The first is normal magic. This is used by most.
The second is high magic. This is only used by the greatest of mages or those possessing special equipment.
The third is ancient magic. This is only possessed by immortal beings of incredible age, like the Monster.
The fourth is infinity magic. It is the most powerful branch of magic, and is able to be able to create galaxys and travel through time without problems and without time mages noticing. It is said by the immortals the way to see if you are ready to use it is to walk into a paradox hole and survive, since to do that you must live out of time.

@L_G- is there a limit to how much X-I can adapt to? Once it adapts to something, does it constantly use the lessions it learns in adapting in other hacking attempts? Is it able to unadapt? Is it willing to unadapt without being ordered to? Does it take orders from you above all others?

@Risp: X-I's adaptation is limitless. She cannot unadapt once she has learned something. She was made from Borg technology.
