As far as Xion's sprites go, that's kinda a legal grey area, as you'll find if you traverse the webcomic world and find sprite comics. At best, it'd be similar to fanart or an homage to the original game. At worst, it'd be copyright infringement. Thing is, nobody's quite sure yet if it'd fall under the fair use or parody provisions of copyright law. Sure, the base of the "art" is obviously not Xion's, but neither is the base for, say, Weird Al's parodies.

The real problem in making a clear judgement here is that the legality of sprite-based art has never really been tested in court. And there's some fairly popular sprite comics out there, so you can't just say the companies haven't heard of the practice...

Though most in the webcomic world would agree that we'd be far better off if most sprite comics would go away... :-)

Thus, I'm not gonna edit and yank the images. But I will say this: I've seen better sprite manipulations. :-)

You could do that...although I haven't found the time to read through it yet, it does seem like an interesting comic.

Although having a good webcomic doesn't mean daily updates...ctrl-c/v/z had a what...3 week period before they got a new animated? It was Vindaloo for a LONG time.

Hmm, in that case it depends. If hacking the game is easier than five minutes of fill-bucketing and paintbrusing (including removing the numbers in front of her portrait), go for it. Otherwise, Print Screen can still come in handy.

Why, Yes. Yes it is.

There's easier ways to rip involving both prt scrn and 'hacking'. Mostly just using the emulator's util's to view what's in the vram or just simply disabling other layers if possible.

Well, the roms themselves are illegal...but should the pictures be too? If they are unedited and/or not claimed as your own copyrighted material, it should be perfectly legal.

Anyways, I found a few extra pieces, I'll load them into the zip as soon as I can.

@Xion: Technically, distributing ANY material from copyrighted games is illegal. But that's getting into the "little laws", like how lemonade stands are illegal.
