EDIT: clarification: this means you actually have to provide rationales with your reports, and cannot just post messages pointing blame at people. Reports are useless if you've got no story or evidence to back them up.

Also Orbitz can't connect, not even with Mainframes, ThaSpaz is just using Mainfarmes so can't crash J2O, UF is incapasitated and Yay's using Mainframes.

Same for Musti, but whatever, I dont really consider Musti as dangerous. He doesn't seem to crash for fun, only when he gets banned. (Thats what he claims, but I caught him more times though.) The one big problem with musti is that he's able to change his IP :P

No it does not because
1. What is an insult or not is subjective
2. Wrong clantags are very hard to check if not impossible
3. There is no such thing as "IP hacking", only "hacking a specific IP"
4. 1 and 2 are not relevant because they have nothing to do with server crashing and the like

Now back to hacking reports only, please.

ApprehendJJ2 does not show everything, but it is sufficient for many types of attacks. If you want to report attacks that ApprehendJJ2 does not detect, you should run a full packet monitor program (such as Ethereal or WPE).

Clan tag issues and insults are not considered hacking, and action will not be taken against them.

So what does classify as a hacking incident?

Help me check these answers:

1) Crashing servers (This is obivous)
2) "Packet" editing? (Whatever that is)
3) Renaming?

a screenshot to me would be proof that somthing is up, but it seems to me noone is too happy with starting up all these programs just to run a hour- long server. Maybe if it was integrated with project controller?

yes, yes they can. if someone wanted to get past the protection though, they'd need to hack the security server as well.

there's password protection on it. I can change the password from the server.
also, data is transmitted in such a way that if a person does "hack" the program to make it always accept (you can do that if you try...)...nothing will still work aside from getting access to the list of IPs you can fake with.

i think i'm not as bad as you make me out to be.
if i wanted, i'd host the source code for everyone to get, it doesn't really affect me.

We're pretty much aware of Unknownfile's come back to JJ2.

Based on his behaviour, and past behaviour I have got Monolith to agree to instant banning of any IP Unknownfile uses to launch his attacks (plus any IP's of proxys he is using to get the GIP).

Anyone found working with him and using his "new" tool to crash servers, will also be banned without question. You ONLY have one chance, get caught once and your banned.

Anyone who knows anything that could be useful about UF (web servers you know he has etc), should contact us asap so we can ensure we keep people like him off our network.

anyway, it could be harsh, but I suggest just setting up a list preferably in a side panel on J2O with all IPs of people that have crashed someone... just to make sure you always have the latest banlist!

Actually that timer has reached zero a long time ago. And banning IP's won't stop hackers completely because some use proxies to hide their real IP or to do attacks remotely. It's very easy to get a new proxy once the IP of your current has been banned.

It's a lot of work, but the end result will hardly be satisfactory. It is virtually impossible to stop someone from accessing the serverlist and/or game servers in the end. I personally think it is a lot more effective to filter against these so-called bad packets.

I have to point out there is a new type of crash that can be easily used in WPE.
I call it Big Packet Crash, BPC. ApprehendJJ2 doesn't log it. WPE logs it, but you may have to look closely to find the enlargement. A 0 on the end means it's been increased by one. Increasing the packet by one alone is enough to crash.

When you get a BPC JJ2 freezes. If you didn't get anything from ApprehendJJ2 it's most likely to be a BPC.

I have been crashed by UnknownFile and I think the best thing you can do is get PeerGuardian and block his IP address totally. If you have a router which has a built in firewall you may want to block him there too.

Yes, I have been crashed by UF too, the problem is that he uses proxies, so banning his IPs doesn't really help much.
