Unhappy Trouble starting the game

Hi everybody,

I've downloaded the shareware for jazz jackrabbit 1 and I can't seem to figure out how to run the game. I've tried jazz.exe and the shortcut that came with the file, and the screen turns black as if it's going to run the program, but returns to the previous screen where the files are located.

I also tried the setup file, where the option to change the soundcard is, and exited and saved, but still got the same results when I tried the exe files.

I'm using windows xp media, and don't know how to run the game in dos,

Please help! I know this is probably childsplay for all of you.

Thank you in advance!

Odds are you need to TPpatch (doesn't fix some sound issues, however) it, or you could try running it in dosbox (almost perfect). There are guides on how to do this littered throughout the site and forum, it should be pretty easy to find.

There are a lot more TPPatch threads here. Try searching for them.
