JJ3 Bad News

I emailed Project3 about Jazz Jackrabbit 3, and here is there reply.

Perhaps there was a time when we considered doing JJ3, but Epic holds the Jazz Jackrabbit rights and they wanted a ridiculous (-/-)load of money for the character. So, we had to can the idea.
---------------------------------

I don't think you want to know what I posted to them about regarding JJ3, I cursed a lot. Soo this is it. I guess we have to bother Epic now, err now we should put the blame to Epic, I guess.

JJ Tublear: Filter bypass edit.

The filtered word starts with s and involves droppings. Really not a very good PR message, is it?

This is really kind of a disappointing message. First of all, any company that uses a commonly bleeped-out swear word in a message to someone of high school age isn't really completely smart. Second of all, this shows an interesting insight into why JJ3 was cancelled. However, you must remember that Project 3 Interactive was bought by Gathering of Developers (G.O.D. Games) and then G.O.D. went bankrupt, so Project 3 was killed with it. Lost Boys Interactive has shown some interest, but this message's crude tone demonstrates the fact that Project 3 isn't interested.

Yes, well, they probably recognized that they were talking to a highschooler, and tried to be as "cool" on the topic as possible. If that involved using "commonly bleeped-out swear words", then so be it. Anything to retain good public relations. Or something.

Besides, Tublear said that he himself swore a lot in his post to P3, so they simply responded in the same manner, just slightly less vulgar.

There. Two theories to play with.

btw, Krezack: What you say !!

Yet it is true what they say at P3. Last time I spoke to (name edit) he informed me that Epic wanted around 500.000 dollars for the licensing of a SINGLE character.
So yet again, finances contribute to the death of a possible sequel.

Not very economical, is it? If you ask for $500,000 you will not sell anything. If they had lowered the price they might have been able to sell it.

Trafton, uhh, AFAIK Project 3 isn't dead. Project 2 is.

GOD is off, Project 3 is out, Epic is greedy so what is left? I think we can stop even thinking about JJ3D...

I'm surprised those guys are allowed to swear. *Snickers like a Simpsons nerd* I sure hope someone got fired for that one! And that "how are you gentlemen" thing is from the All Your Base craze. To continue...

CATS: All your base are belong to us.

It's from a strange, badly-translated Japanese game, called Zero Wing. All the exclamation marks are italics. Don't ask why.

You know what you doing.

Take off every Zig !!

You have no chance to survive make your time.

Hahahahahahaha !!

If I remember any more, I'll post them.

It actually goes like this:

Captain: What happen?
Operator: Somebody set up us the bomb.
Operator: We get signal.
Captain: What!
Operator: Main screen turn on.
Captain: It's You!!
Cats: How are you gentlemen!!
Cats: All your base are belong to us.
Cats: You are on the way to destruction.
Captain: What you say!!
Cats: You have no chance to survive make your time.
Cats: Ha Ha Ha Ha ….
Captain: Take off every "zig."
Captain: You know what you doing.
Captain: Move "zig".
Captain: For great justice.
