Test

Nobob
Noway
Nodoughnut
Nofrench
Nojazz
nospaz
nothing
nobody

Now that these words with the no prefix are searchable.
So is the word Dingdongbalognanut

Lets see which of these we can find using the search engine!

Ok, so it isn't the "No" prefix, it just seems that the words Nobody and Nothing seem to want not to be found.

It's in the pre-win thread. Rad said it.

Oh, and add a wildcard and it works.

Nobody*

Nerk?

The wildcard doesn't fix it, for it only finds things like "Nobodies" "Nobody's" "Nobody'd"
There isn't one result with just "Nobody"

Err...do you mean that the search function won't search for the word "nobody"? If so, you are right - perhaps something to do with the NO operator. When did this start happening - this update, last, or has it always been like this?

So, it isn't the NO operator...

Hmm...I wonder if it is only indexing posts posted after the upgrade?

P.S. In the future, it might be a good idea to not name the topic "Test" or anything like that.

The reason for this has been brought up before.

There is a maximum occurence value that is set to limit searches. The last someone checked and told me it was at 50000. That would mean that if a word appears more than 50000 times on the board, it will not be indexed. There is also a list of non-searchable words, regardless of the number of occurences. This list contains words such as "the" and "and" which have no reason to be searched for. Finally, there is a four-character minimum for words. This has caused controversy in the past, because many people want it reduced to three. The reason it hasn't has supposedly been for space concerns (it would add a lot more words to the database), but if new space has been purchased I don't know why this hasn't been changed.

So most likely the words "nobody" and "nothing" are either on the no-search list or have more than 50000 occurences.

Ok... 50000 times?

Oh, and I planned on this being just a test topic that I would delete after I searched for the phrases in the first post. But, it turned out more weirder than I thought it would.
