I have no idea on how to fix this. But I can help you to join Jazz2 servers in another way. Try going to the games in progress list on J2O. If you click join, you should be able to download a *.j2i file. If you open those, you should be able to see an IP address. Try entering the address on the place where normally the listserver should appear.

The normal listserver patch doesn't work for the Mac version. In fact I have no idea where the list server information might be stored on the Mac version.

Newspaz's idea is probably the best for now.

First of all, download Hostal (2.4 MB - Visit homepage) and run it (you'll need an admin password if you use OS X).

Then, enter this in the fields at the bottom of the main window:

Host: list.jazzjackrabbit.com
IP Address: 66.12.88.130
TTL (Days): 0

And click 'Map'. Now enter this:

Host: jazz.logicware.com
IP Address: 80.0.82.178
TTL (Days): 0

Click 'Map'. And finally, enter this:

Host: mail.godgames.com
IP Address: 80.0.82.178
TTL (Days): 0

And click 'Map' one last time.

Now quit Hostal and if you use OS X: open the folder 'For OS X 10.0-10.1 only' and run Mac OS X Activator (you might want to read the information in the same folder first).

I don't really know anything about this, but Dusk's post made me curious... why jazzjackrabbit, logicware and godgames? Why not nimrod-online and contrabandent?

Jazz2 on the mac will always connect to those three, no way to change that. This just makes the computer think the IPs are the ones from contrabandent and nimrod.

So, if JJ2 tries to connect to jazz.logicware.com, the computer checks a 'Hosts' file first, sees an IP for that address is already in there, and connects to that IP. Like this it will in fact connect to contrabandent.

Normally this is (read: was) used to speed up the progress of looking up an IP.

Or, u can edit the Jazz2 application with a HexEditor. the list server urls are in there near the bottom. But i'd go with the hosts solution.

Actually, I tried using HexEdit, but it didn't work. I could edit the strings, but they couldn't be longer or shorter than the original ones.
