Ive seen that this game can run on linux with wine but how can I play online games on it? Doesn't the listserver patch use the registry which I think linux doesnt have.

WINE uses a file to emulate the windows registry, you just have to copy and paste the keys from the .reg file into the registry file in your /.wine folder (usually located in your home folder)

you could also just make sure that jazz.nimrod-online.com is in your .exe

I just ran regedit.exe under wine then used the "import registry file" function to run the patch. I wouldn't need to do that now however, I have modified my EXE- any hex editor will do, you just find list.jazzjackrabbit.net and replace it with jazz.nimrod-online.com with the leftover byte from list.jazzjackrabbit.net becoming an 00.

What are the results ?

I can now connect to the list servers without modifying my registry at all from windows or linux.

just use the import reg-file function in regedit which you get to be typing "regedit" in your console place (in my case "Terminal")
