JJ2 Magazine

Do you think this would work? It could have upcoming level previews, a demo disc with level pack demos, reviews (lots of reviews by magazine staff and a few by non-staff people*), JCF thread of the month, monthly mini-magazine with JCS tips, JCS Tutorial Section, sending letters to the magazine and picking the best ones, geting a free strategy guide for the level pack of your choice when you subscribe, latest JJ2 events section, Top 10 level(s) or level packs**, mini-hint guides in the magazine, JJ2 Quizes, a JJ2 community section, a news section, a next month page, classified info and much much more. It would also need a name.

If it is decided that it is possible then, we can start by sending Epic an e-mail to get permission. If they accept then we can start a discussion thread to talk about what should be in the magazine and decide on a name for it. If it becomes really successful then we could request to have a new section on the JCF about the magazine.

Now for the poll. You need to pick whether you think it would work or if you don't think it would, or if you don't care.

*Note: If you aren't magazine staff you would have to send it to the magazine. It wouldn't matter if it was by e-mail, snail mail or fax.

**It could be different gametypes every month.

Do you mean an E-zine?
Otherwise, we'd have to set up two magazines for Europe and U.S.

I don't think he means an e-zine, but actual dead tree stuff.

Dead Tree + Clay + Jazz information = no.

Do you think anyone would want to head up such a project?

tbh i think this would work. imagine all the oldies who are too little into jj2 to play the game but are intrested into the game/ #jj2 aso
a small info mag would give them the necessary infos in like 10 or 20 min.. of a month... i think this is cool for the community. I mean take a look at the C-C newsletters (without the cooking tips ehehe www.craccoclan.com) a print of course would me more encouraging to read although it would cost money so people would have the order it. on the other hand i could imagine people would be encouraged anough to pay a few dollar or euro for it. there would of course be an online version. just use the j2o infos and data to create it.. a few nice graphics.. and perfect....

The more I think about it, the more this project seems destined to fail.

Unless its an ezine.

Nice idea, but I don't see it happening unless it's an e-zine. The JJ2 community just isn't that large, and to do a proper dead tree magazine costs money.

We can only find out things on our own, just because the community is small enough to stand at one end and be able to see the other end.

EDIT: What if we use something else apart from treebark for paper?

An E zine would be cool. It could even be weekly.

An ezine is definitely possible, and probably more effective than a podcast, since even people on a slow connection would be willing to read it.

I think it is an good idea.
But someone have to make the english version and someone the NL one.
i think we need to translate the text from english to netherlands that goes much faster.

If we make an JJ2 Magazine what must be in it?
Levels, Episodes , 1.25, Jazz 3, Maybe Razz arena?
New lvl types.

And if you got a new idea for it just post it here.
