i thought there was a jazz2.exe file that allowed servers to be displayed faster.

There is. Search the download section for either ".exe" or levels by Alberto and you should find it.

The .exe will only make your servers appear on the list server faster - basically hosting faster. But to retrieve the list servers through the game you need to update your registry correctly.
