JJ2 Advert

Thought some of you might be intersted in seeing this advertisment found in the Winter 1999 issue of Disney Adventures. It has some sketches of Spaz in the BG, also it seems the addition of Spaz is the main selling point.

I see they also heavily played up on the "for the whole family" nature of the game, while not even mentioning online play or JCS. In an age where image is important for sales, I think they made a bit of a mistake there.

I don't think anyone here has their whole family actively play the game. Well, except maybe Violet. And that other person.

Somewhat offtopic, but Tweeter's entire family loves Commander Keen. Same thing with pretty much all DOS games with my family. Except Doom and Wolf 3D. That me and dad played.

This is totally true. Unfortunately this is probably the only game/series that the ENTIRE family loves. A lot of us share a common interest in games but, for example, my brother never liked Jazz.

But Jazz 2 is definitely NOT fun for the whole family.
Animal Crossing... is fun for the whole family.
The Sims is fun for the whole family.

Jazz 2 just doesn't appeal to a lot of people to be honest.

I remember seeing that advertisement in Nick Magazine as well. Except I think they left out the bit about family fun. Or not, I don't remember.

Well, my whole family loves Keen too, as does half my class. My mother hates spaz because of the bird eating and grandma thinks its demonic, so there you go, Keen = family Jazz = online.

JJ2 may not have recieved the attention and publicity it needed to succeed financially, but at least Epic tried to promote it. Not like the GBA Jazz game. I couldn't even find a store relatively near me that carried it. I had to order online. It's no wonder Jazz never really took off financially; nobody knew about it.

The fact I've seen two of them in the same magazine says otherwise. I haven't scanned the second one because it's just the JJlogo and a link to jazzjackrabbit.com. It was in one of them "top 10 links 4 kids" or something.

We're talking about a page out of a magazine, not a game box.
I'm quite confused how you came to that conclusion sir.

On a side note saying "From the makers of Unreal" and "Fun for the whole family!" in the same ad is kind of an oxymoron don't ya think?

And Tweeter- JJ2 is fun for some whole families. Yours just seems to be dysfunctional.

Nothing.

But my box does look exactly like that.

I'd hate to think what a sperm bank would have to say about it.
