^?

what harm could they do? it's so dumb the things that are censored here, yet crap is still a legal word.
anyways what's wrong with (-)(-)(-)(-) and (-)(-)(-)(-)(-)?!

sorry if this belongs in the feedback forum, it seemed more misc to me. move it if needed.

In fact, just like dick, boob (very sorry about the bypass, but I want to prove my point) has a different meaning other than breasts. Specifically, it means:

So there. :P

Now how can that be a bypass....this is a bypass....imagine if the word "turkey" is uncensored....."t.urkey" would be a bypass..

Boob, oh wow I'm using such bad language...

Oh, I didn't know boob was uncensored. I thought it was, hence my use of invisible bypassing.

Well you could just go to SCF if you want to talk about that stuff.

He said you can use the word boob there, and here, obviously the person who moved the topic would have censored you, probably Derby if it wasn't allowed. That had nothing to do with abortion, foo.

Breasts.

What's your problem again? You can't express your idea because you cannot use the word breasts?

Well, I really don't know how hard speaking is for you, but over here it doesn't seem to be censored.

imagine them censoring all those words besise one.. hope you get my point.

All of those words you listed actually mean different things.
Just like different words for breasts. Well, they still mean the same thing, but they have different characteristics. I don't like the word... well, the version of "breasts" with two ts. It's.. crude. I like "booby", though. It sounds cute.

I don't understand why it's necessary to censor words with the meaning of "curse". (if you open JCF and click the "title set" button you find this word right after "colon 2" and before "diamondus 1").

Actually, it means hell. So, when you cuss, you are basicly saying "go to hell"

Derby: Severe filter bypass clearance. You have received a subwarning for this offense.

Yes... maybe you're right. Anyway, there's nothing wrong in saying (-) when something goes wrong.

Anyway, I’m 100% against obscene words. Those should really be censored (and luckily, some are).

Derby: Filter bypass removal.

Yeah, when you get right down to it, it's just condemming someone to eternal agony.

Derby: Previous quotation clearance.

In the same vein, giving someone a thumbs up could be interpreted as "Throw him to the lions!"

I think the purpose of the filter is really to encourage more intelligent sounding conversations. For example, the next time you want to (curse) someone, try saying "I would prefer if you were condemned to eternal agony".

Derby: Severe filter bypass replacement. This has resulted in a subwarning.

I thought that was the thumbs down.

Also, what about an optional filter? That way, there'd be no need to bypass the filter. If curses really offend you, turn on the filter.

I always thought "May you live in interesting times" was the traditional mortal curse.

Actually, we don't really know what exactly the thumbs up and thumbs down gestures meant back in the Roman times. The thumbs up could very well have meant death, instead of popular support.

To get somewhat on topic, anything you want to say that requires you to bypass the filter probably isn't worth being said.

Censorship test....

(-)(-)(-)(-)(-)
breasts
(-)(-)(-)(-)
(-)(-)(-)ilating
(-)(-)(-)(-)ies
(-)(-)(-)(-)licious

D.F.X.: Words censored by me, so Derby can't censor me... | Of course Derby will still censor me for having the other part of the word, still in tact, but I'm trying to prove a point here, without doing anything wrong...

Conclusion: Change the filtering of words from "exact" to "loose"....meaning, that any form of the word is censored: the word itself, or the word and another word put together to form a compound word...
