There's not too much thing, but I think it's a promising game, and it would be really nice! I'm trust in it!

This is shaping up nicely. Ever consider doing something like this, though?

Target Quake: http://avatar.telefragged.com/tq.htm

I don't own Quake 3, so I don't know how exactly this plays, but it definitely looks interesting.

This looks sooooo 1337, finally someone who actually DOES something instead of just saying "we should make a jj2 quake mod".
I'd like to help in some sort of way, however I know nothing about 3D game stuff. Also, it might be a good idea (Like shadow said) to convert the stuff to Enemy territory, which is free and the developers of that game are supporting mods actively. FYI, it runs in the Q3 engine, and as far as I know there are a few sites with info about converting things from one q3 engine game to another one, try google.

Keep up the good work

well, the thing is if i want to make the mod for ET it will still need all of the quake3 basic skills like modeling and stuff.
i know there are free games that can be used for mod making. but using the old plane Quake3 for my game has one voordeel (dutch), it can be compiled again.
that means that i can make the game stand alone and it will be mutch smaller in filesize.

maybe ET has the same thing but why do i need to use it? the only reason i can think off is that it supports objectives. but when i am ready to start modding (coding) i will try to make these things myself so i don't have to filter out al the stuff i don't need.

i hope this awnsers your question.

and sure you can help, EVERYONE can help!!!
just post a reply in the forum topic where you would like to help, we can teach you some new things if you like, in het nederlands lijkt het mij dat makelijkst gaan :P

There's one big difference between ET and Quake 3: ET is free, while Quake is not. So people without quake 3 wouldn't be able to play the mod, unless you make it standalone, but that's probably illegal (I think). Ofcourse a lot of people (including em) wouldn't care and download it anyway, but the admins here wouldn't allow us to discuss it or advertise it because it's warez, and most jj2-playing people only come here, which would mean they probably won't even know about the existance of this game

Oh yeah, do you have MSN?

well the source files of quake3 are free.
what do you do with source files if you may not compile them???
thats right they are useless that way, so compiling the quake3 source is free.
so making a quakebased game is free. so that won't make it ilegal, but the fact that i am using some ripps of the 3d demo is an other thing to talk about.

but i don't think it will be a problem becouse there are a lot of games about jazz in the J2O download section based upon screenshots taken of JJ2. if that is ok for J2O than my game is ok. Razz Arena just looks better. (no offence to the other games)

and yes i have msn, just register at the forum on my site and check my profile
err, well i need more members for it so thats why

The source may be free to use, and you may be free to distribute the compiled version of that code (assuming you compiled it), but that doesn't do you much good if you still require any of the original game assets. I am fairly certain that you are not free to redistribute any of the game assets, because those were not released with the code. That means, no models, no sounds, no graphics other than what you put into it yourself.

Then again, you didn't make that Jazz model either. If we're already using assets from an unreleased beta, what's a few more assets from an old game that everybody probably has anyway...

well i wanted to try to filter out all the quake3 sounds and models annyway, becouse they just arrent jazz style. i think you right, but as mod it is nog illegal just if i complile it, (as you said).

an and about the old demo, i have done so mutch with the model that it is hardly ripping, and why should epic care they don't use it annyway.

and we can remake or modifie it a little so it wont be the same (mesh, skin etc)

please register at my own forum for more questions, it saves the bandwidth of J2O and gives me more users,.... wow talking about traffic here comes a new e-mail of a new post somewhere on the forums

I recognize those Jazz models Probably because I created them.

Don't worry too much about copyrights on Razz, he's actually my design. Looks cool in 3D

I don't mind if Razz is used, he was a design of mine that no one owned, although the name had been created in fan circles before.

Just be careful when using Epic properties though, and respect their copyrights.

And hello Ninja, I said something to you

well thanks for your reply, i am realy a fan of your drawings, not only the jazz ones.
you asked if the animations of your model where unextractable well i don't know if they are but me and my crew have found a new way to animate jazz. we can use animations of the models ID software, it look great on jazz, and now we have a playable jazz two. i think razz will be the next playable charactar. oh and is that razz drawing of yours the only one? or did you draw him more times?

Noogy drew him two times as I noticed. But that's enough to know how he looks like on whole body.

hoy hoy. I am doin some of the coding the the Razz Arena mod.
much of the codign done has been done by me.
soon version 0.8 will be uploaded there and the front end of the mod will get a much needed face lift. im hoping to get it uploaded by wedensday.

there were alot of changes from 0.6 - 0.7
not so many in 0.8 but may feel like it.

i also altered jazz's body abit to get Spaz out. thinkin of doin razz soon.
the bodys are all diff not identical so they can have thier own personalitys.
im hoping that some one can write out the bot chat files to give the charaters their own personality insted of the stock bot stuff. which some fits but not all..

really theres 2 major things left in the Game side code to get the important stuff in it.
freeze gun, and the airboard.

ive also been thinking and talkin to one of the other crew members Rizzen. and thinking that adding new weapons be more accurate to the jj games.
example. the seeker in jj is a pickable weapon. basicly its own gun.
in razz arena is a powerup.
one of the things that i had been thinkin about changing. but it can wait till all the essential elements are done in the mod.

Razz Arena 0.8
Fixed Spaz model
New map. includes the editable Map file.
Plasma gun has new wall impact effect.
blood splatter has been removed from the impact of being shot. but still remains in the gib action.

NEW USER INTERFACE desing. the back ground is temp but gives a nicer feel to the start of the game.

Piet added a Feedback to the Forums. Self explanitory.

0.9 has been started and a few things has been fixed over 0.8 i just needed to upload 0.8 before i start naming what i have done to 0.8 like i did for 0.7.
