Routers and hosting

Am I right in thinking that because of my router I cannot ever host a game of Jazz Jackrabbit 2 ever again?

It still does not work
I had a router some time ago and opened these ports, but it didn't work. Now I have something other (don't know what) and I still crash every 30 seconds

It's not so much opening the ports, you need to forward them to your computer.
