Jazz Jackrabbit 2 Online

Level gets a bit repetitive after some time playing it, but difficulty ramps up pretty smoothly and I’m adding extra points for a working Tweedle boss. Definitely an enjoyable experience. Worth a look!

Having played this level recently, I’d say it does great justice to the battle mode. It flows very nicely and the eyecandy is gorgeous. 7.3 is way too low for a level like this.

Just when you had thought that the downloads page would lay dormant again and a long time would pass without quality levels, Sir Ementaler comes and pleasantly surprises us.

The levels are all in the style that BlurredD so long ago used for his famous survivor levels, but with an unexpected twist. The main characters have all given up their usual rabbit appearance in favour of a smaller creature, the frog.

While many frog-based games have been created for Jazz Jackrabbit in the past, from an old pack titled “The Froggy Quest” to the popular Frog Lane in many hotel levels, this is something different.

As a result, after hosting this pack for about an hour in a server with at least 10 players the whole time, I have finally decided to write a review. This review portrays the pack as a whole, and rates it appropiately instead of each level.

You are probably getting tired of my talk so I shall get started.

Eyecandy
The eyecandy in these levels isn’t really outstanding in comparison to other level-creating gems, however for all it’s worth, it nicely fits the atmosphere the creator went for. I have not noticed any tilebugs nor eyecandy errors. On the other hand. some levels were kind of bland and more scenery could have been used.

Eyecandy: 2.5 out of 3 points.

Gameplay
Now for the more important part, the gameplay. I think that it’s normal for me to give this at least one point for the uniqueness this pack offers since it’s the first one of its kind. The system works quite well in generalm, but there are also occasional errors which can affect the gameplay quite badly. For example, I have noticed that sometimes, when the level loads, some people can get stuck in the tube at the beginning or, even worse, get warped back to the beginning of the tube in an infinite loop, which causes them to rejoin. This error can be quite annoying, and /c or /r is necessary in order for everything to be normal.
Anyway, besides that error, I haven’t noticed anything out of the ordinary and the arenas are quite well done in terms of jump/run distances.

Gameplay: 2.5 out of 3

Music
The music fit the atmosphere most of the time, and I haven’t noticed any tracks which can get on the player’s nerves. One of the levels, however, the Prismatic Palace one, has music which doesn’t really suit it (weird_personalities.mod) and it seems as if it has just been put so that the level doesn’t remain silent. Overall, the music selection is well done.

what i dont understand is why there are 3 tilesets and only 1 lvl?

this is weird,but funny.Very funny!its worth a downloads for seeing the faked-JJ.but it would be more good if we could see the real jazz jackrabbit…

Rating Medivo conversions:
They all add signs from JJ1,and those good-looking sucker tubes.the textured backgrounds look awesome,especially in the 2nd tileset.Good levels can be maked with these tilesets,but do not use lava too much,because lava animations are kinda buggy.the poles with those diamond-like things are cool!Like I said before,good levels can be maked with these tilesets.

pls make the tileset bigger,more desktop tiles…maybe add a good background than that blue,AND MAKE IT ENGLISH!

tublear,if you kill the boss you automatically advance to next level,so no need for exit.
EYECANDY
HORRIBLE!this is a rip of treasure hunt 1(-5.0),which has kinda good eyecandy,but the rip is horrible!tileset use at rips is very bad.(-2.0)
PROS:-
CONS:very bad tileset use,treasure hunt one rip

GAMEPLAY
basic gameplay.only jumping,walking etc.(-1.0)
some traps&trivks would be very useful for making this level spicing.also,too many enemies(-1.0).this level would be hard even with fewer enemies.also this isnt hard;it has only bilions of enemies placed in this level.

ITEM PLACEMENT
it has very few ammo.some regenerating rf ammo,a freezer powerup and some freezer ammo(regenerating too),and no food.(-0.5)

VERDICT

but because it doesnt allow <1,ill make it 1.0.

maybe you changed some sprites in jazz sprite dynamite and you forget to patch your jj2,or you have the 1.24 anims.j2a,in an incredible mode.

jonidon,this level doesnt works because in the zip name “hottel a la jon” are spaces.pls reupload with the name “hottelalajon” or “jon”,etc.

this sucks.the only point of this upload is that you can have sugar rush in coop ,because in SP you can write jjrush.in coop is kind useless because,like Moonblaze said,only the server can be hurt by enemies.if you dont want to cheat in sp,then collect 100 food.this is actually a cheating program,that is kinda illegal in two points:
A.the cheating programs uploads are illegal on jazz2online
B.only big and fat people use cheats and cheating programs.

this is a very good hotel.

EYECANDY
exceptional.this level has two modes!a light one and a dark one!what a clever idea!there are many interesting rooms,like the ice skating and the labirint.

GAMEPLAY
with hotel,you will never get bored.there are a lot of things to do:play the labirint,play soccer,and many other.in two words:good hotel!

the ice skating and the labirint idea rux!there are very interesting.the tilset also fits perfectly.there aren’t any tileset bugs.

you know that this is my first level?

it is great.12 levels of mario action!i like mario levels but these rux!the eyecandy is good for a mario level.i dont hear the music so i will not rate it.the gameplay is,like i say before,with much action.you must have your fingers fast to survive these levels.the bosses are excelent,especially the underused rocket turtle boss.anyway,why is bolly in water?he is electronic!this pack is terrific!i think it deserves a 9,9.

download reccomendation:yes for all,not only for mario players.
